Estate Sale Treasure: Teeny Tiny Things

Miniature Items, Estate Sale ($1 for all); Antiquing Book, Estate Sale ($0.25)
I couldn't resist these tiny treasures at the estate sale we went to this past Sunday. I think the mini phone is my favorite! I plan on using the tiny basket as a prop for Blythe. :) The mouse and duck are just so tiny and cute, too!!

The book is actually pretty cool- it's from the late 50s and talks about the antiques that were popular at the time. While I've never heard of (much less seen) most of the things, it's still cool to learn more about things of the past.

Outfitted In: Army Green and Bell Bottom Jeans

Ray Bans, Mushroom Bag, Shirt, Jacket, Jeans, Sandals, Pin: All Thrifted
I think the hubby did a great job taking my outfit pictures this past Sunday! It was really hard to pick my favorite, so I'm actually going to include two photos for once. :) Let me know which you like better: Without sunglasses or with?

I never know whether or not to take off my sunnies for outfit photos! In any case, I do love having the hubby take my pictures. He always does such a great job, and it's so much easier than doing them myself. :)

This outfit was perfect for our Sunday spent lounging around, seeing a movie, hitting up an estate sale, and relaxing at home. Sundays are my favorite days!

Thrift Finds: Powder Pink Flats

Vintage Leather Shoes, Goodwill Outlet ($2)
When I saw these great vintage shoes in the Goodwill Outlet bin, I had to grab them! They are a little beat-up, but I am so in love with them. :) This color is my favorite for shoes, the leather is perfectly soft, and the design is so unique! They remind me of the sort of shoe an eccentric former ballerina would wear in her later years. In any case, they are awesome, and I'm so glad I found them for a mere two bucks!

Thrift Finds: Kitty Cards

Cat Playing Cards, Fabric Flowers: Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
Much to my dad's chagrin, I have pretty much become a cat lady. :) It's funny if you know me well, because I've been pretty terrified of cats my whole life! That is, until Moxie came into our little world. She is so sweet, and she's super easy to care for, play with, and love. I'm sure she could turn any cat-afraid person into a cat person!

All this to say that I've been drawn to cat things lately, too. So when I saw these adorable playing cards, I had to snatch them up! I loved how they looked with these pretty peach flowers that I also picked out of the Goodwill bins. :) I hope you have a great Monday!

Outfitted In: Pastels and Mushrooms

Checkered Shirt, Jeans, Bag, Mocs: All Thrifted; Scarf, Estate Sale
I found this awesome man's shirt at Goodwill the other night, and I love it! It's so lightweight and comfy, and the pastel colors are so very 1980s summertime. :) With my vintage scarf as a belt, this is my new favorite summer outfit!

I decided to take out my vintage mushroom bag too, even though it's not the best for thrifting. (Cross-body bags are the best, so you can use both hands to dig through the Goodwill Outlet bins!)

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Amanda

Detail Shot Saturday: A Mighty Ant

Ant Hair Clip, San Francisco's Chinatown; Ray Bans, Goodwill in Pensacola; Shirt, Goodwill in Richmond
I couldn't resist this adorable ant-shaped hair clip as a souvenir of our San Francisco trip! I loved every minute of our Chinatown exploring- it seemed like everything was fun and quirky. :)

In this close-up, you also have a better view of the Ray Ban New Wayfarers that I thrifted in Pensacola, Florida, last year. At $4.99, I think they may be may best thrift find to date! (I think thrifting with my family brought good luck!)

I'm so glad it's Saturday!!! I'm going to hit up my favorite thrifts, do a little cleaning, and just relax. Have a great weekend!

Blythe's Thrifted Outfit: Aloha!

Vintage Doll Dress, Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
I thought this vintage doll dress was pretty neat when I spotted it in the Goodwill Outlet bin. I like the Hawaiian-like print and the ruffly bits!

Please excuse the indoor photo (ie: non-photogenic background with the hubby's games and my movie), but I keep forgetting to take Blythe's outfit photos until the last minute. These past few weeks have gone by so fast that I hardly can believe it's Friday again! Have a great one. :)

Estate Sale Treasure: BluBlockers

Vintage BluBlockers, Estate Sale ($2.50)
I am a sucker for sunglasses, especially well-priced vintage ones! These yellow-framed babies are definitely no exception for my obsession. They were by far the best find of the estate sale the hubby and I went to this past Sunday.

The only weird thing about these BluBlockers is the obvious: they make the world look a little strange! You put them on, and everything is sort of pee-tinted... not exactly rose-colored glasses. But hey, I'm still a fan! Do any of you rock BluBlockers?

Thrift Find: Talkboy

Talkboy, Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
Okay, who remembers the Talkboy? Pretty awesome 90s fun! I love finding things like this in the Goodwill Outlet bins. It's not old enough to grab the attention of the vintage seekers, but it's a part of my 90s childhood. :) I got this for the hubby, thinking he'd remember it and like it. He was so excited about it, too! He had wanted a Talkboy when he was a kid. Ahhh, reliving our childhoods for mere pennies. Good times courtesy of Goodwill Outlet!

Outfitted In: Tomato Red and Flower Power

Shirt, Mocs, Bag, Ray Bans: All Thrifted; Necklace: F21; Jeans, Burlington
I really like this tomato red as a clothing color. Unfortunately, like other favorites of mine, (ahem, mustard yellow) it is hard to find! This is the only shirt I have in this color, and while I like it, the ruched top is a little strange on me. So on the thrift list it goes, along with more mustard yellow tops/cardigans.

Also, I've been using what I'm referring to as my "happy purse" a lot. While I certainly have thrifted better-quality bags, this one just makes me smile. And as I said in my post yesterday, some days just need a bit of sunshine!

Thrift Find: Vintage Flower Power

Vintage Flower Purse, Good Samaritan ($3)
I love the groovy, flower-girl feel of this vintage 60s bag! I can imagine my mom as a girl seeing this and thinking it was awesome. Even though she was a bit of a tomboy as a kid (same as me!), I think a bag like this would have been a prize possession, along with her Velvet doll.

There's something about a vinyl bag with a huge flower on it that makes me smile ear-to-ear. :) And don't we all need a bit of that on a Monday morning?

Outfitted In: Leather and Braids

Shirt, Jeans, Tee, Coach Bag, Sandals, Ray Bans: All Thrifted; Ant Hair Pin: San Francisco
Okay, so today's blog title may be a little misleading. I'm not really one to wear leather clothes...but this vintage Coach bag and these sandals are both definitely my kind of leather! I also had fun braiding my hair to keep it out of my face in this hotter weather. :)

Thrifting yesterday was definitely not as epic as last week (Will anything ever top last week's finds?), but it was still fun! I found a very strange cat book from the 90s, which apparently was written by a PETA employee. I've read about half of it so far, and it's a little bit extreme, but I'll take any cat information I can get.

Growing up with dogs, it's certainly different having Moxie the cat around, but we love her so much! It turns out that I am a cat person after all, which I never, ever would have thought. :)

Have a great Sunday, everyone!!

Always,
Amanda

PS: Happy Father's Day to the best Dad around!!

Detail Shot Saturday: In a Pickle

Pickle Pin, Heritage Antiques ($3)
This is my new favorite tiny accessory! I wore it last Saturday, but you probably couldn't even see it! Luckily, I have my new camera with its super-close-up setting to capture this little guy in all its glory. :)

I had originally seen this pin on etsy, and it had been in my favorites for months. So when I spotted the same pin for less at my favorite local antique shop, I had to grab it! I love pickles, so this is the perfect touch of personality to any of my thrifty outfits. :) Happy Saturday, everyone!!!

Thrift Find: Heart to Heart

Heart to Heart Bear, Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
I've been rocking lately at finding special items from the past! This bear is the white version of my younger brother's childhood bear. It's special because its heart beats! Unfortunately, the battery is dead, and I'm having a horrible time trying to open the heart that contains it. But I was still so excited to find this bear that was my brother's favorite as a little kid. When something from your past shows up in a random Goodwill Outlet bin, it makes you think that someone's smiling down on you. :) Happy Friday, everyone!

Thrift Find: Vintage Coach Crazy

Vintage Coach Bag, Goodwill Outlet ($2)
Back in the beginning days of Another's Treasure in 2009, it wasn't uncommon for me to thrift vintage Coach bags every week. Goodwill Outlet almost never had hardcore thrifters there, and it was easy as pie to score great vintage things. Fast forward two years, and I stay away from the crazy thrifters literally fighting (hand-to-hand combat) for the purses and shoes. So you can imagine my excitement when I came upon a nearly empty Goodwill Outlet Saturday and scored this baby! And I didn't even have to shed any blood. ;)

Outfitted In: Peach Bows and Moccasins

Peach Scarf, Estate Sale; Shirt, Target Clearance; Vintage D & B Bag and Minnetonka Mocs: Thrifted; Jeans, Burlington
I loved this outfit, which I wore on Sunday for a day of estate sale shopping, antiquing, and hanging out with my hubby. :) This shirt has definitely been worth the Target clearance price! I've worn it probably 20 times so far. :) I can see these Minnetonka mocs being just as much of a staple in my wardrobe. They are comfy and cute- my two main sartorial requirements!

This was also the first day I used the vintage Dooney bag I showed you all yesterday. I've been using it every day since then, too. :) Although, I talked to my mom after she saw the post, and she thinks it might be too small for the stuff she likes to carry around. (I might send it to her for a while anyway, because I think she'd like it!)

I hope you're having a great week so far! It's going by pretty fast, which is good. I'm forever looking forward to the weekend!!

Thrift Find: Vintage Dooney

Vintage Dooney & Bourke Bag, Goodwill Outlet ($2)
I love when I find nice things in the Goodwill Outlet bins. :) This vintage Dooney & Bourke bag I was especially excited about! What's funny is that when I told my mom about this bag, she wanted it too! I guess we might have to duke it out for it. Although she's a pretty great mom, so if she really wants it, I'll send it her way!

Finds: The Shoe Jackpot

Dooney & Bourke Boat Shoes, Sperry TopSiders, Minnetonka Mocs, Leather Flip Flops; All: Goodwill Outlet ($2.50 each)
I mentioned it yesterday a little bit, but OH MY GOSH did I hit the shoe jackpot on Saturday! This collection of shoes here is pretty much the selection of my dreams. (Just add a new pair of embroidered loafers, and I'd be set until it snows!) I love these shoes so much that it inspired me to clean out a lot of my older thrifted pairs. There's nothing like the cycle of thrifting- thrift an item someone donated, love it, re-donate it. Good times. :)

Outfitted In: 100% Already Loved

Striped Shirt, Estate Sale; Vintage Pickle Pin, Heritage Antiques; Floral Shirt, Jeans, Sandals, Lucky Bag: All Thrifted

So, about the ark in the photo. When I walked out to our apartment parking lot to take my outfit photo yesterday morning, one of our neighbors was washing his truck and spraying water everywhere. He happened to be right next to my car (which is where I take my photos), so I just drove to the thrifts without an outfit picture taken. Not a big deal. But when I got a little lost on my way home from the thrifts and happened upon this adorable playground, I had use the opportunity for a unique background! So, yup. That is why there's an ark in my photo. (Which is fitting, since I recently discovered a local Christian radio station that I love!)

So thrifting yesterday was pretty epic. Seriously. I got to Goodwill Outlet, and it wasn't too busy for the first time in a long time. It reminded me of the old days of GO, when I could go to the purse and shoe bins and pull out numerous finds! And I really hit gold this time. :) We're talking Minnetonka Mocs, Dooney & Bourke boat shoes, Sperry TopSiders, and leather flip flops- all in my size and new!!! And two vintage Coach bags and a vintage Dooney & Bourke bag! I absolutely couldn't believe my luck. :)

Photos of my finds and more fun stuff to come this week. :)

Amanda

Detail Shot Saturday: The Littlest Watch ((And a Giveaway Winner!!))

Watch, Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
I really like this little watch- it's just about the size of a hair tie! Unfortunately, the teeniest bit of metal is on the back of the face, so I won't be able to wear it again unless I think of a solution. Hmmm, any ideas? I was thinking maybe a tiny drop of super glue over the metal bit? Let me know if you think of something better!

And, for the winner of the Dooney & Bourke bag giveaway....

Drumroll...................................................

Congrats, Paula! Email me at already-loved(at)hotmail.com with your address so I can send it your way!

Blythe's Thrifted Outfit: A Red Hat and a Teddy Bear

Red Hat, Romper, Skirt, Teddy Bear: Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
You know how last week I said I hadn't found doll clothes in awhile? Well, I think Goodwill Outlet heard me, 'cause this awesome hat, skirt, and teddy bear were waiting in the bins for me! I love this outfit, which is a remix of last week's. The yellow skirt works so well with the romper, and I couldn't resist throwing the little teddy bear in the photo for good measure. :) Have a happy Friday, everyone!

Thrift Find: 'Shrooms on a Bag

Vintage Mushroom Bag, Good Samaritan ($3)
When I saw this unique vintage bag at Good Samaritan on Saturday, I knew I had to have it! Mushrooms are one of my favorite foods, and they're also my favorite pizza topping. :) I don't think I've ever seen a purse with them as decoration, though, so I'm excited to have this! The hubby's take on it? He doesn't get it. He saw it and wondered who on earth would use such a bag. Um, hubby...ME! (Love you!)

Outfitted In: Black and Brown and Thrifted (Almost) All Over

San Fran Tee, Penny Loafers, Lucky Brand Bag, Vest: All Thrifted; Jeans, Burlington; Necklace, F21
I wore this on Sunday for a little bit rainy, fun day of estate sale shopping, seeing Bridesmaids, and having lunch with my mom-in-law and sis-in-law. The estate sales were okay- one had nothing great, and the other had a couple things like a peach scarf and an old Zippo lighter. The movie was long, but at times it was fall-out-of-your-seat hilarious! Oh my, I thought I was going to shoot Coke out of my nose a couple times! The food at the Italian place we went to was also very good, and it was the source of two more meals as leftovers. :) Overall, a pretty great day.

Amanda

Thrift Find: Pretty Vintage Umbrella!

Vintage Umbrella, Love of Jesus ($2)
I love, love, love this vintage umbrella! The handle is such a cute color and shape, and it's in great condition. Vintage umbrellas just have so much more appeal to me than new ones. I mean, the adorable pattern on the top of the umbrella is very detailed and not just mass-printed! It has a slight bubble shape! It's cute! (Okay, I'm going to stop nerding out over an umbrella now...)

I hope you guys are having a great week so far. :) Please, enter the giveaway from yesterday's post! You know you want that adorable Dooney bag. :)

Outfitted In: Zebra and Books

Zebra Shirt, Jeans, Scarf, Watch: All Thrifted; Bag: etsy (Gift from Mom and Dad- Thank You!); Sandals, Journeys
This was my first time using my 'book' bag that my parents surprised me with on my birthday! I love it! For thrifting, I though it would be best to tie a scarf to it so I could wear it cross-body, and it worked well. :) I kept everything else fairly simple, just throwing on some favorite thrifted things and heading out the door.

I think wearing my faves gave me good thrifting luck- I found a great Lucky brand leather bag and a Dooney & Bourke bag! And a couple other great things, too! I think I might have a giveaway for the D & B bag, so keep an eye out in the next couple days for that. :)

Detail Shot Saturday: Necklace Dreams

Dreamcatcher Necklace, Shop in Lake Tahoe ($9)
I thought I'd add this new feature to the blog since I rarely think to share close-ups of my accessories. Which is kind of sad, since my accessories are usually my favorite pieces of an outfit! Anyway, here's the first, from last Saturday's outfit. When I saw this necklace in a souvenir shop in Lake Tahoe, I knew I had to have it! The only problem was that it was in a shop with a strange older lady outside talking to passerby and doing random yoga poses...

But I braved the lady, giving her my biggest smile as I kept walking by her into the shop. I have to say the weird encounter was totally worth this great necklace, made with quality materials that I can wear without a metal reaction. :)

I hope you have a great weekend! I have to work this morning, but I'll be hitting the thrifts this afternoon. I have to say, I need a thrift trip after this week.

Blythe's Thrifted Outfit: Pink and Blue

Blue Romper, Pink Barbie Skirt, Barbie Purse: Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
I haven't found any new outfit pieces for Blythe for quite awhile, so I used a common style blogger trick and made a new outfit with a romper as a top. :) While I personally couldn't pull off a romper and a bright pink skirt, I think Blythe wears it well!

I hope you have a great Friday, and a nice weekend as well. :) I have to work tomorrow morning, but then I'll be off to the thrift shops!

Thrift Find: Toy Camera

Vintage Toy Camera, Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
I am a fan of cameras, period. I love the way they look especially, and this one is no exception! The one thing I'm bad at about older film cameras is actually using them. A lot of the ones I have are not functional or no longer have film readily available. But hey, if they are atheistically pleasing, who cares? Come to think of it, though, it may be time to go through my camera collection and redonate some...

Outfitted In: Flowers and Flip-Flops

Floral Shirt, Yellow Shirt, Purse: All Thrifted; Jeans, Burlington; Bug Necklace, San Francisco Chinatown; Flip-Flops, Journeys
This was Sunday's outfit- the perfect outfit for a great, relaxing day with the hubby! We went to McDonald's and got some frozen strawberry lemonades, we saw Hangover II, we hung out at the apartment, and we ate dinner with a gift card at Chili's. It was nice to spend the day just hanging out, and we both thought the movie was pretty funny. :)

This 'pose' was thanks to the hubby's insistence... he demonstrated what he wanted me to do for the photo, and I think he did the pose better than I did! Lol :) Oh, and you can't really see it (I'll have to get a close-up), but I was wearing the really cool bug necklace I got in SF Chinatown! The bug is all sorts of neat colors, and the necklace is glow in the dark too. It really doesn't take much to make me happy. :) To quote my favorite movie: "You've got to enjoy the little things." Ah, Zombieland. :)

Always,
Amanda
