Thrift Finds: Kitty Tote!

Kitty Tote: Goodwill Outlet ($2)

I'm selling stacks of bags (nearly all of my collection!) at the garage sale we're having in a couple weekends. So I didn't feel too bad thrifting this awesome tote!

It's huge, and is perfect for carrying my racquetball stuff to the gym. :) Speaking of which, we played yesterday for an hour and fifteen minutes- crazy tiring, but crazy fun! I got a new racket and a tension keeper (I think it's called!) that is shaped like a heart. Pretty awesome!

Thrift Finds: Gold Kitty :)

Kitty Pin: Good Samaritan ($0.75)

I was excited to spot this cute kitty pin at Good Samaritan last weekend! I love the crystal eyes and the blue ball (?) he's playing with. :) And I love that it was just 75 cents!

I hope everyone has a happy Friday. :) Mine are always super busy at work, but I am definitely looking forward to the weekend! I'll be hitting the thrifts tomorrow, and then the hubby and I are going to the movies Sunday. TGIF!

Thrift Finds: Cat Heads Bag!

I spotted this crazy cat heads bag at Family Thrift this weekend, and I had to grab it! It was just a buck for all this awesomeness!!!

That's about all I can muster today, as I've been in a Benadryl allergy haze the past couple days. And it's Monday. Yuck! Here's to my vacation week getting close!!

Thrift Finds: Cat Calendar!

2013 Cat Calendar: Family Thrift ($1.50)

I love this adorable little cat calendar I scored for next-to-nothing at Family Thrift. :) It still had the original $13 tag attached, too!

It's just the right size to take up residence in my thrifted dollhouse, since there really isn't enough room on my typewriter-table desk.

In other news, it snowed a whole bunch here yesterday, pretty much out of the blue! It is super weird to live in a state where it snows in late March!

So, I am in love with these kitty shoes I scored on eBay! They are comfy and adorable- I've had a hard time reaching for any other shoes!

I don't always have the best luck at Family Thrift, but this Saturday, I scored this awesome cat tote! I love that it even has some tortie cats like Moxie on it! :)

I think it is handmade, and the inside is another cat print! Cats, cats, cats. :)

I worked yesterday morning, and then it was finally thrift time! I was excited to get out to my favorite thrifts, since I hadn't been to them in a couple weeks. While I didn't score big, I did find a couple sweet things!

Though we still have some snow left over from Friday's storm, most on the streets have melted. (Thank goodness!) But this picturesque patch on the side of our building is staying put for now, and it makes for a nice wintry backdrop. :)

Thrifted Vintage: Santa Loves Cats!

Vintage Stocking: Goodwill Outlet (<$1)

While I know it is a long time until next Christmas, I couldn't help getting this vintage stocking for Moxie! How adorable is it!?! I especially love the little cats at the top, which I didn't even notice until I got it home. :)

Like I said yesterday, I came up pretty empty-handed this weekend, but I do have a couple more things to share. And then I leave for Florida on Friday for a long weekend! I can't wait to be in Pensacola with my mom, aunts and uncles and cousins, and grandparents! :) I'm pretty psyched!

So this might be a pretty quiet week/ weekend here on the blog, but I'm sure I'll have plenty to make up for it next week. :) Have a great Monday, everyone!

When I saw some leather scraps at Michael's a couple weeks ago, I had to get them! They are perfect for my DIY cat pins! I especially love this black one- but I am a bit biased toward black and tortie cats because my Moxie cat. :)

Thrift Finds: Cats!

Cat Blanket: Family Thrift ($3); Cats Book: Goodwill ($1)

Here are my cat-themed finds from this past weekend. :) The blanket is a little cat-intense, but the book is actually pretty interesting. It's from the '50s, and it talks about feeding your cat chunks of meat and milk and making beds out of boxes. (The box thing I get, because I know some cats that love boxes!)

Kitty Cat Friday :)

Thrift Find: Sleepy Kitty

Kitty Candle Holder: Love of Jesus ($0.50)

I keep finding these sleeping cat candle holders at every thrift store I go to! Usually, they are clear glass and $5 or more, so I leave them on the shelf and move on.

But when I saw this adorable green glass one (for fifty cents!!) I had to bring it home with me!

There are not too many things cuter in the world than a little kitty curled up, asleep. :) (And this is from a girl who was scared to death of cats a mere year and a half ago!)

Do you ever wait to find an even better deal at the thrifts?

Thrift Finds: Cats, Cats, Cats!

Kitty Pins: $1 or $2 each: Love of Jesus

It's no surprise that, with my love for my kitty Moxie, I find myself drawn to cat things. And at the thrifts, it's like a cat party!

These little guys were all in the case at Love of Jesus, and most were just a buck! I especially like the gold kitty and the black kitty with rhinestones. :)

It was funny- when the guy was ringing me up, he asked why I got these and left a couple other cat pins. When I told him these were the cutest ones, he just shook his head...

Glitter Cat Pin: DIY

I think this pin may be my favorite DIY idea ever! I've seen all sorts of glitter hair clips and headbands and the like, and I knew I could make a pin. :)

I got pre-glittered thick paper and sticker-backed pins, cut out shapes, and attached them to the pins! Super-duper easy, and very cute. :) My favorite is this cat-head one, but I can't wait to make more!!

Thrift Find: Pretty Kitty

I absolutely love this cute kitty pin I thrifted this past weekend at Good Samaritan! It has a bobble head, crystal eyes, and a resemblance to my kitty Moxie. :)

I was surprised to find such a great pin at the thrift store, since ones as awesome as this are usually antique store finds. (For more than two bucks!)

Outfitted In: A Cat Smuggler :)

All I was thinking all day was that it looked like I was smuggling a cat in my sweater! I don't think Moxie cat would ever be behaved enough to go along with me to the thrift stores, so this Jason Wu shirt is the next best thing. :)

Speaking of cats, these leopard print loafers are so great! I'd been searching for an affordable pair for months, and I was a little surprised to find them at Khol's! The best part? I had a gift card, so they only cost me six bucks. :) Almost thrift-store cheap!!

Outfitted In: Black Cats and Leopard Print

Sunday was quite the day. Not only was it Super Bowl Sunday, it was Jason Wu-per Bowl Sunday! Known as by those less corny than I as the day the Jason Wu for Target collection came out. :)

We went to all of our local Targets before finally finding this cat print scarf, the cat print tote, and the cat print shirt. :) It is safe to say I am officially a cat lady.

Although the Jason Wu for Target things have been going for high prices on eBay, I think I'm going to keep my hard-won finds. :) This scarf is definitely my favorite, but I know I'll be sporting the tote and shirt quite a bit too!

Thrift Find: Box Kitty!

As you (very well) know by now, I've started thrifting kitty-themed things this past year. This has to do with the fact that in 2011 I got over my cat-fear and actually got my own kitty. I never thought this would happen, but I'm a little bit of a cat lady. :)

This little tiny cat box was so cute (and, weighing practically nothing, free) that I had to grab it. I think I could open an etsy shop just devoted to cat things, if I had the time!

Well, I'm off to work...just 4 more days until our Florida trip. :) So, so, so excited!!!

Thrift Finds: Itty Bitty Kitty

Kitty Jewelry Box: Good Samaritan ($1.50)

When I saw this adorable little kitty jewelry box in the 'fancy items' glass case at Good Samaritan, I was worried it would be overly expensive. When I asked to look at it and saw the price, I didn't hesitate to say I wanted it!

What stood out to me the most is that the cat's head is reminiscent of Lea Stein cat head brooches (which I have been wanting since I got a kitty!). Unfortunately, the brooches run upwards of $60 on eBay, and even more on etsy, so I doubt I'll be getting one any time soon. (Unless I thrift one, which would be an ultimate find!)

Estate Sale Treasure: Gold Member

Cat Pins and Necklace ($1 for all); Vintage Gold Change Purse ($0.50)

There were a lot of little treasures at Sunday's estate sale, including these gold-hued finds. :) I grabbed all of the kitty costume jewelry, which was a steal at 3 for $1.

The vintage change purse is pretty fragile, but the design is so intricate and lovely! I love finding nice vintage things for super-affordable prices. :)
