I may or may not have said, 'Yes!' quite loudly when I saw this on the counter at CHKD Thrift. :) I had seen these unicorn earring holders on etsy for more than $10, but this little guy only set me back $2!

Virginia Metalcrafters Angel Wing Begonia Brass Dish: Goodwill Outlet ($1)

I was super excited to find another of these awesome brass leaf dishes, especially because it was in the Goodwill bins! Despite being a little heavy, it only came out to about a dollar. :) (Most everything at Goodwill Outlet is pay-by-the-pound.) It is perfect for holding my hair accessories at my vanity in the bathroom!

I've been eying the Nate Berkus for Target things every time I'm in the store. But most everything is more than I want to pay for decorative things. So when I spotted this green link decor in the Goodwill bin, I snatched it up! I think it may be missing a link or two, but for less than a buck- so worth it!!

The Legend of Zelda game for NES: Goodwill Outlet (<$1)

When I saw this in the Goodwill bins last weekend, I knew I had to get it for my hubby! He loves his original NES, and though he has lots of games, he didn't have this one. :) (It's usually so much more expensive than the other NES games!)

Anyway, I knew it was something special and that it was worth more than the pocket change I paid for it. :)

Retail/Thrifted: A Vintage Golden Jewelry Box!

Vintage Gnco Japan Jewelry/Music Box: Good Samaritan ($1.25)

On this special edition of Retail/Thrifted, we've got this pretty vintage jewelry box. :)  Why is it so special? One: it was a great find for an awesome price. Two: It is just like one I inherited from my great grandma!

This one is in a little better shape, since over the years that I've had my inherited one, the paint dulled and the legs fell off. (I was just a kid when I got it, and oh how I loved that jewelry box!) Now I have two special boxes, each with their own histories. :)

We're going to Florida for a week next month for Josh's sister's wedding and my birthday! While I'm not a huge 'beach person', the wedding is on the beach, and we'll be there for most of the trip. So what could be a better thing to bring along than a sturdy L.L. Bean Boat and Tote? :)

One of these has been on my thrift list for a long time, and I couldn't believe when I found one for nearly nothing in the Goodwill bins! And I just love the peach color!

Retail/Thrifted: An Awesome Instax!

This retail/thrifted is definitely my best yet! I couldn't believe it when I found this FujiFilm Instax 200 in the Goodwill Outlet bins, and I certainly didn't think it would work.

When I got home and took a closer look, it had a little bit of corrosion in the battery area. With tweezers and a can of air, I was able to fix it! I took it for a spin yesterday, and I just love the pictures this baby produces. :) Love at first instant-photo sight.

 I keep an eye out for elephant things, because we have a friend who loves them. When I saw this little glass elephant at Goodwill Outlet, I had to get it for her! It's super cute, and at about a dollar, it was definitely a steal. :) I had a little bit of a hard time finding a price comparison, but I was finally able to dig up a similar glass elephant paperweight on tias.com (the internet antique shop, not the restaurant!).

Josh and I have quite the collection of Fiesta dishes in all shapes and sizes. They are mostly from our wedding registry, but we've added a couple pieces since then. :)

When I saw this Fiesta piece at Love of Jesus for less than five bucks, I had to get it! It still had the tags on the bottom, too. :) It'll be perfect for gravy, (or, more likely, spaghetti sauce) and I love the buttery color!

Archipelago Candle: Family Thrift

Today, I'm starting a new feature inspired by the fact that I've thrifted so many nice things lately for way less than retail. Even when I don't know the brand, I can generally tell when something is well made and well worth the thrift price. :)

This Bergamot Tobacco scented candle is housed in weighty glass with fancy, understated decoration. I love the smell, (although I very much dislike tobacco smoke in real life) and I'm always on the lookout for a nice, unused candle.
