Thrift Finds: A Pretty, Vintage Market Bag!

Vintage Market Bag: Nearly New Thrift Store ($2)

When summer starts getting closer, I always want to carry an easy, cute market bag! I've loved these bags for the past several years, and I sold my old ones at our garage sale back in Richmond. So, when I spotted this one, in the perfect jadeite green and pink colors, I had to spend two bucks to make it mine!

Do any of you carry these bags in the warmer months? I think the first one I ever saw was on the calivintage blog and I've loved them ever since!

You can find them on etsy, but they are significantly cheaper if you can search one out at the thrifts or fleas. :)

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Amanda

Jadeite...Tuesday! And an Update!

Hey everyone! Man, you must be thinking, 'Amanda is SUCH a slacker! Where are her posts??' And, you'd be right!

Of course, I have the typical excuses for not blogging! Leaving a job, having a crappy 5-year-old computer that shuts down on me randomly, etc. But I'm still here! And I am definitely not ready to give up on this blog. :)

So, today, here are more updates on the Jadeite front! Some of the above pieces were spotted at various antique shops for CRAZY prices: the shaker in the third picture was $130! The batter bowl near the top, I just skipped buying because I already have one. :) And the C-handle mug in the fourth photo was $45, so it didn't come home with me, either. (Although according to my Jadeite books, that isn't too unreasonable of a price for that type of mug...I just can't personally ever justify paying that much for ONE MUG. You know?)

Anyway, I did come home with the Jadeite planter and a billion saucer plates for super cheap. The creamer and tea cup with the saucers were a whole $5! Score!

The bottom photo has a pretty full update on my collection so far. I did score a couple more bowls two weekends ago in St. Pete for $10 that aren't shown above. (My computer refused to load the rest of my photos from my iPhone. Good times!)

But yeah, so that's what's been going on with me. :) What have y'all been up to? Any great finds lately? I am thinking about selling a couple little things on my Instagram, if anyone is interested. :)

Always,
Amanda

Flea Market Find: A Big A

Vintage Plastic A: Wagon Wheel Flea Market ($4)

Hey everyone! I hope your week is going better than mine so far. I've felt sick all day today, and when I went to the clinic, I had a fever over 100. :( Boo. So hopefully I feel better tomorrow!

I thought I'd get a quick post in before I head to bed early tonight, and I really wanted to share one of my most favorite recent finds.

What I love about this 'A' is that it looks just like how I sign my 'A' in my name! And what's not to like about something this cool-looking for just four bucks?

Well, I'm off to bed. Here's to feeling better soon!

Amanda

Thrifted Vintage: A Sweet Projection Screen!

Vintage Sears Projection Screen ($5): United Methodist Thrift, Bradenton

I haven't decided yet how we'll use this thrift find, also from our Bradenton thrift trip. It's so neat as-is, used as a screen to project images or video on, but it has so many other possibilities!

I'm thinking: glue a vintage map on it, and have it in our future house as neat décor? Paint the screen and use it as artwork? Keep it as-is and someday get a projector for our iPhone photos?

What do y'all think? Any ideas for this cool vintage gem? :)

Amanda

Thrift Find: Pretty Golden Sandals :)

Sandals: Goodwill St. Pete ($2)

Being a Florida girl again, it's so nice to be able to wear sandals and open-toed shoes for a lot of the year! :) So, when I found these pretty, golden ones in my size and brand-new at Goodwill St. Pete, I had to get them! I mean, they were $2!

Mom and I got pedicures yesterday (my first one since before I got married more than 5 years ago!), so I'll definitely be sporting these to show my pink toes. :)

I hope everyone has a great rest of their weekend!

Amanda

Thrift Find: An Awesome Silver-Plated Deer Bowl!

Pure Awesome Deer Bowl: Goodwill Sarasota ($3)

This past Saturday, Josh and my dad and I went to the thrift stores in Bradenton and Sarasota. :) I had been to most of these thrifts before, but this nice Goodwill in Sarasota was new to me!

I #thriftspotted lots of cool things there that I'll be sharing soon, but this find I had to take home with me. :) It's a silver-plated Christmas decoration, as I think that the 'deer' are actually 'reindeer', but I'll definitely be using this year-around!

It's the perfect holder for my favorite nail polishes- I just love it!

Have any of you found anything cool this week?

Amanda

Thrift Find: An Awesome Uglydoll!

Uglydoll: Peace River Center Thrift, Lakeland ($2)

The hubby and I ran a couple errands in Lakeland for my parents yesterday, so we decided to hit up some of the thrift shops there. :)

They were actually pretty good! We found a couple Christmas presents, and then I found this great Uglydoll! It was marked  $3.50, which I was totally okay with, since they are usually $20, but then it was on sale! Only two bucks for this big, bright guy. :)

Does anyone else love Uglydolls? My mom just thinks they're ugly!

Thrift Finds: A Book and a Cat :)

Kitty Necklace ($3); Diary by Chuck Palahniuk ($1)

I thrifted mostly Christmas presents while we were in Pensacola, but these are two of my finds for me! I couldn't resist the kitty necklace, since I can restring it with a leather cord and wear it. :)

There's a funny story about the book, actually. My Grammy called me over to the books to look at a series to see if I'd like it. As I looked at the books she was talking about, I mentioned that I wasn't having any luck at the thrifts at finding Chuck Palahniuk books. And then I looked down, and bam! There was one I didn't have- for a buck! Talk about awesome. :)

I did lots of #thriftspotting in Pensacola (we went to 9 places!) so I'll have plenty more from our trip to share!

Thrift Find: A Little Kitty Wallet/Purse :)

Kitty Wallet/Purse: Lighthouse Thrift ($1)
I couldn't resist this kitty cross-body wallet from Lighthouse Ministries Thrift! I had been looking at one very similar on etsy that morning as something to bring to the gym. :) And this one was much cheaper!

The best thing is that the straps are removable, so when I am using a regular purse, I can detach the strap and use it as a wallet. Then, I can snap the strap back on to bring thrifting or to the gym! Win, win!

I hope everyone's week is going well so far. :) I can't wait for the Thanksgiving holiday!!!

Amanda

Thrift Find: A Pretty Handmade Bowl :)

Handmade Bowl: Salvation Army ($1)

When we went #thriftspotting the other day at Salvation Army, I realized a cute little bowl to hold our keys on our dresser would be perfect. So I went on the hunt for something cheap, cute, and the right size. :)

This little bowl, at a buck, fit the bill! It's the perfect size to hold mine and Josh's keys, and it looks good on the dresser!

Well folks, I'm off to Orlando for the day to hang out with my awesome aunt, uncle, and baby cousin! :) Have a great day!

Thrift Finds: Brand-New Flats!

H&M Flats: Goodwill Outlet ($2)

These cute flats were a steal at Goodwill Outlet for a couple bucks! I like the satiny material they are made out of. :)

Of course, once these got home with me, I wore them once and then had to pack them! We have most everything packed up at this point, which is good. At least it won't be a scramble to get everything done in the last couple of days before we move!

Have a great Tuesday!

Thrift Find: An Awesome Leather Tote!

Cynthia Rowley Leather Purse: Goodwill Outlet ($3)

I sold most of my purses at the garage sale we had the other weekend, so I found myself lacking a great leather tote. :) Of course, when I spotted this leather one in the Goodwill bins, I had to snatch it up!

I love the snakeskin print on it, and it's super roomy and awesome. :) I had such great luck at the thrifts this past weekend that I don't think I'll be able to thrift anything else before we move!

I think I'll be at least doing one more trip to Goodwill Outlet, though, because I'll miss it when we leave. It's just so randomly awesome!

Antique Shop Finds: A Leather Tiger!

Vintage Leather Tiger: 60 West Antiques ($11)

This awesome tiger was in the 50% off room at 60 West Antiques! It's so neat, with little white teeth and everything!

It was funny when the lady ringing me up tried to wrap it in paper to protect it- the tail hung out of the top! I know an old leather tiger is a sort of weird thing to love, but what can I say? I'm sort of weird!

Antique Shop Finds: The Best-Ever Camp Blanket!

Vintage Camp Blanket: West End Antiques ($40)

We're going camping this upcoming long-weekend! I'm definitely bringing my new favorite blanket I found at the local antique shop. :) It was a little pricey (for me!) at $40, but I love it so much!!

This weekend will be a long one- we'll be doing our garage sale on Saturday morning, then camping the rest of the weekend! It will be fun, but definitely packed full!

Thrift Finds: Kitty Tote!

Kitty Tote: Goodwill Outlet ($2)

I'm selling stacks of bags (nearly all of my collection!) at the garage sale we're having in a couple weekends. So I didn't feel too bad thrifting this awesome tote!

It's huge, and is perfect for carrying my racquetball stuff to the gym. :) Speaking of which, we played yesterday for an hour and fifteen minutes- crazy tiring, but crazy fun! I got a new racket and a tension keeper (I think it's called!) that is shaped like a heart. Pretty awesome!

I hope everyone has a pleasant Monday!

Amanda

Thrift Finds: Leather Boots!

Leather Boots: Goodwill Outlet ($3)

I know I won't need these as much in Florida, but I had to get these awesome knee-length leather boots! They were three bucks, and they fit perfectly! :) Awesome!

I hope everyone has a great Friday. :) I know I am excited for the weekend! Anyone have exciting thrift plans?

Thrift Finds: Wooden Wall Art :)

Wooden Art: Goodwill Outlet (<$1)

I love this colorful wooden Last Supper art that I found in the Goodwill bins this past weekend. :) The colors are great, and more modern that the traditional artwork!

Even though we're packing up our wall art soon, I had to see it above my new record player for a little while.
I hope everyone's weekend was great! Here's to a good week. :)

Thrift Finds: Rose-Colored Glasses :)

Sunnies: Goodwill ($2)

Even though I'm selling tons of sunglasses at our garage sale, I had to get these awesome ones at Goodwill! They're crazy, big, pink, and very Elton John-like!

What can I say? Sometimes you need rose-colored glasses to look through. :)

Thrift Find: A Huge Hat!

Straw Hat: Goodwill Outlet (<$1)

We're going camping with the in-laws next month, so we've been getting our camping supplies together. :) When I saw this cool hat, I knew it would be my camping hat!

At less than a buck, I won't feel bad if it gets yucky while we're out in the woods, and it's pretty darn cool, too!

I hope everyone's weekend was great!

Thrift Finds: Pointy Green Flats!

Green Leather Flats: Goodwill Outlet ($2)

Of the two main things I found thrifting this weekend, they were both shades of green! It's funny how that works sometimes. :)

These green leather flats are so awesome, I couldn't pass them up! They were worth giving up one of my other thrifted pairs of shoes. :) (I am only bringing my very favorite when we move.)

I feel like pointy flats have the same effect on an outfit as heels- they dress it up a bit. And since you won't find this chick sporting heels any time soon, these will have to do!!

Amanda
