Estate Sale Treasure!

Mini Poker Machine, Black Cat, Metal Plane: Estate Sale

These were the little goodies I purchased at the last Richmond estate sale I went to. :) I found one little thing for me (the cat!), one for the hubby (the airplane!) and one for my Las Vegas-loving brother (the poker machine!).

Well folks, this is my last week here in Richmond! I'll be doing lots and lots of packing and cleaning, and not much else! My posts here this week will probably be a little scattered, but I promise I'll be back full-force once we arrive in Florida! :)

Estate Sale Spotting :)

Last weekend, I went to my last Richmond estate sale, and it was a good one! There were so many fun things to look at!

Of course, the weirdest thing I saw was the cigarette cloth napkins... Nothing says 'I'm ready to eat!' like cigs, right? Weird.

Happy Friday, everyone! Today is my last day of work before we move, and then it'll be super-packing time!!

Amanda

Estate Sale Spotting!

Here are some of the cool things I spotted at the last estate sale we went to! We got a cool radio for my father-in-law for his birthday, but we left the rest of this awesome stuff behind. I can't wait until we're furnishing a whole house someday- it will be so fun!!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Amanda

Estate Sale Treasure: Jadeite!

Vintage Jadeite Plate: $2.50: Estate Sale

I have a mini-collection of jadeite now! I seriously went years without spotting it anywhere in Richmond for less than $20, and now- bam!

Thankfully, my little pieces don't take up much packing room. :)

This pretty plate was just chilling on a bookshelf at the estate sale we went to last weekend, and everything was half-off. So, yeah...$2.50 jadeite plate came home with me. :)

Well, I'm off to work this morning, and then I'll be doing some #thriftspotting! And then, lots of packing!

Estate Sale Spotting :)

I realized that I forgot to show last week's estate sale photos! We went to two different ones, and there was some pretty great stuff in both. :)

My favorite things of the bunch? The rugs in the two bottom photos! Unfortunately, they were both hundreds of dollars...otherwise I probably would have made room in my packed stuff for the first one!!

I hope everyone's week is going well so far! Did anyone else spot something awesome at estate sales lately?

Amanda

Estate Sale Treasure: A Vintage Striped Blanket!

Vintage Blanket: Estate Sale ($2)

When I spotted this awesome blanket at the estate sale we went to last weekend, I had to get it! It's similar to the very cool (and very expensive) Hudson Bay blankets. :)

It was also super-easy to wash and get all fresh and fluffy, which is always a plus for thrifted/estate saled blankets!

You might notice there is no thrift list or even a #thriftspotting list today. Well, I am off to the thrifts to do some spotting of awesome things, but I am just going to take Instagrams of whatever is cool. :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Estate Sale Treasure: A Glass Unicorn :)

Glass Unicorn: Estate Sale ($2.50)

We went to a really cool estate sale last Sunday, full of awesome mid-century stuff and great old books! Although I wanted lots of things from the sale (particularly a vintage mustard yellow couch!), I held back and just got this unicorn.

It's a really cool unicorn, though! The way the glass looks in the sun reminds me of a hot-weather-friendly ice sculpture. :)

Well, I'm off to the thrifts this morning, mostly to do some #thriftspotting, but also to hunt for a couple little things!

Estate Sale Spotting :)

This past Sunday, we went to an estate sale by a local company called Fini Estate Sales. On Sunday's everything is usually half price, which makes everything a little more affordable!

I didn't find anything I needed at this sale, but I spotted lots of things I thought were really cool. I especially liked the world-weary sea captain painting. :) (I maybe should have gotten it- oh well!)

Have you been to any interesting estate sales lately?

Estate Sale Treasure: A Waterford Heart :)

Waterford Crystal Dish: Estate Sale ($10)

When we were in Ireland, we visited the Waterford Crystal Factory. There was an amazing tour, complete with getting to hold Waterford Crystal trophies shaped like footballs! It definitely made me more interested in the company and in crystal in general. (Not something previously on the radar for a thrifty chick like myself!)

So when Josh and I went to an awesome estate sale on Sunday, filled to the brim with nice things, I spotted this pretty heart. I looked at the bottom, and sure enough, it was Waterford! And it was just ten bucks. :)

Estate Sale Treasure: Gum Chains and Three Dog Night

60s Gum Chain ($2); Three Dog Night Record ($1): Estate Sale

We went to this crazy huge estate sale warehouse this past weekend. There were so many great things I liked, but these two things stood out. (Because of their affordable prices and because they are awesome.)

I'm using the gum chain as a Christmas decoration on our mantle, and I've been playing the record this week. :) I think that I might be more of a fan of the artwork on the cover than of this particular album, though.

Well, that's about all I have, folks! Tomorrow, we're off to Williamsburg to meet up with my family until Wednesday, and I am so stoked! I'll see you guys next Thursday with a (hopefully) fun-packed Insta-Thursday. :)

Estate Sale Treasure: Game Boy Games

Game Boy Games: Estate Sale ($1)

We went to a mostly-bust estate sale this past Sunday, but I did snag these two Game Boy games! The Pokemon one is usually pretty pricey, so a buck is a good deal. We'll see if I like it!

Well, I'm off to work!

Estate Sale Treasure: My Pretty $7 Quilt :)

Vintage Quilt: Estate Sale ($7)

I love going to estate sales on Sundays, when most everything is 50% off! This lovely vintage quilt was only seven bucks!! I almost couldn't believe it. :)

I have quite the collection now of old quilts- all of which I've found at estate sales or thrift shops for under $20. Such good thrifting luck! (Now I've probably jinxed myself...whoops!)

Have a great Friday. :) I work tomorrow morning, and then I'll be off on my normal thrifting adventures!

Estate Sale Treasure: A Real Butterfly

Preserved Butterfly: Estate Sale ($1)

When I saw this cool-looking butterfly at the estate sale Josh and I went to yesterday, I knew I had to get it! It is so neat to be able to look at it from all different angles. :)

My only wish is that it wasn't so...brown. Can you imagine how cool it would look if it was colorful, too?!

Speaking of the estate sale, we found some pretty neat things! It was in this adorable house, with a strange layout filled with nooks and crannies and secret spots. :) Sometimes my favorite part of estate sale shopping is looking around the cool houses!

I hope you have a great week!

Estate Sale Treasure: Vintage Brownie Camera!

Vintage Bakelite Brownie Camera: Estate Sale ($5)

At the epic estate warehouse sale we went to this past Sunday, we found a couple really neat things. A vintage bakelite Brownie camera has been on my thrift list for years, so when I spotted this one I was super excited!

While we see vintage Brownie cameras all the time in the antique stores we visit, they're always around $30. But I knew I could do better if was patient, and bam! A really nice one was waiting for me for just five bucks! And it's Bakelite. :)

I think this is the cutest camera I have, and one of the coolest, too.

I hope you have a happy Friday! TGIF, am I right?

Amanda

Estate Sale Treasure: 1960s Toy Cars!

1960s Toy Cars: Estate Sale ($0.50 for all)

I was drawn to the mix of colors of these toy cars, which were in a bag at Sunday's estate sale for fifty cents! I love that the type of car is on each trunk- I think my favorite is the shapely little Fiat!

Upon further research into my little cars, I found that they were popular cereal box favors back in the 1960s. A little boy probably carefully built up this collection and there they sat in the estate sale house for 50 years. It's crazy to think that someday the items we buy now will be considered vintage. Will the estate salers of the future collect old nail polish bottles?

Anyway, it's safe to say I really like my new little car collection. :)

Amanda

Pretty Little Things...and a Mustache

Turquoise Pin ($4); Strawberry Pin ($2); Mustache Pendant ($1) All: Estate Sale
These fun little things are from Sunday's estate sale! I had to get the pretty turquoise pin for my sis-in-law, because turquoise is one of her favorites. :) It's a neat pin, too- made in West Germany!

The strawberry pin is for me, and I love that it reminds me of home. In Florida, we would go to the Strawberry Festival and enjoy fresh strawberries in the summer. So delicious!

And the mustache pendant...well, I couldn't resist it for a buck! How silly and unique can a pendant get? :)

Estate Sale Treasure

Lion ($8); Paper Clamps ($0.20); Glass Bottle ($0.10) All: Estate Sale
Josh and I went to a fabulous estate sale on Sunday, full of amazing things! Not only did we walk away with over a dozen records, we also found some really great deals. :)

The stuffed tiger was our most expensive purchase at $8, but it retails for almost $100! And he's so, so cute!

I also couldn't resist some vintage office supplies, like these quirky 'paper clamps' and a little notebook. The blue bottle I got both for its color and because it says 'worth' on the bottom. :) Pretty cool!

We also got some awesome vintage pins and a pendant that I'll show you guys later on this week. Hope you're having a great week!

Amanda

Estate Sale Treasure: A Pretty Collar

Vintage Collar ($0.50)
I found this little guy in a box full of scarves at the first estate sale we went to Sunday. I'm not entirely sure what it was made for, but I sure know what I'm going to use it for!

I slipped it over my head at the estate sale, and I knew I had to have this 50 cent gem. :) It's the perfect vintage collar; a welcome addition to any boring top!

Amanda
