On the Thrift Store Shelves
Here are some of the random/funny/well-priced things I've seen on the Goodwill shelves recently! You've got to love the shell dinosaur, and the Yankee candle was only three bucks!
I left these finds on the shelf, but they're pretty cool. :)
Have a great Friday!

Amanda

On the Thrift Store Shelves: Goodwill
Here are some of the funny/cool/sweet things I've seen at our local Goodwill lately. :) I was actually tempted to buy the purple VCR...
Today is my brother's last full day here in Richmond, so we're off to have some more fun!

Amanda

On the Thrift Store Shelves: Goodwill
The other night after work, I went to my local Goodwill for some "window shopping". I love checking out what's on the shelves, even if I don't plan on buying anything. (I did go home with the above cat container, though...)
This particular day, there were actually some neat things to be seen. I really liked the globe (but already have one) and wolf figure (overpriced), and the sewing box and Davy Crockett book (don't have a place for them). Nowadays, I think pretty hard before I thrift something. I have to really like it, it has to be fairly priced, and I have to have space for it!

On the Thrift Store Shelves: Goodwill Bin Edition #2
Above are some of the things I left behind in the Goodwill bins last Saturday. Well, except for the Ghostbusters plates ans invites- Josh got those!
There were weird bead-covered eggs, tons of old cameras, a Versace gift bag, a jewelry case, and so many other random things! Looking through the bins and taking photos of the quirky things inside is my new favorite thing. :)
What have you seen at the thrift stores lately?
Always,
Amanda

On the Thrift Store Shelves: Goodwill Bin Edition!
Shown above are some of the things I spotted in the Goodwill bins this past weekend. :) Although I always find a bunch of things that I think are cool, I leave most of them behind. This way you can see some of the other Goodwill bin goodies!
On a related note, I had a recent anonymous commenter ask me about Goodwill Outlet. You know... whether it was fun or scary, or if it's worth a visit.
Honestly, whether or not it's worth going to depends on the type of thrifter you are. Are you prepared to go through mostly junk to find a couple treasures? Are you capable of either steering clear of the aggressive people or being aggressive yourself? Do you feel scared to look through bins without elbow-length gloves?
I say, if Goodwill Outlet sounds like fun, by all means- go and try it out! I, for one, love it. :) If it sounds scary/awful/not worth the trouble- then skip it. There are plenty of cleaner and more organized places in Richmond you can visit. :) I'll be glad to give you some suggestions, even! Hit me up at Already-Loved (at) hotmail (dot) com.

On the Shelves: Estate Sale Edition
We went to a warehouse sale held by an estate sale company this past Sunday. And boy, did they have funky stuff! I mean that in the very best way. :)
I came home with a 90s in-the-box Polly Pocket, some Ninja Turtles Pez, a tobacco pipe, and a bakelite Brownie camera! Shown above are the items that I thought were funny, but didn't bring home. I mean, how creepy are those dolls? And I smiled at the Eureeka's Castle figure- anyone else watch that show back in the day?
Hope you're having a great week!

Amanda

On the Thrift Store Shelves: Brandon, FL Edition
Finally, here is my last post about our Florida trip! These photos are from our thrift spree with our good friend Lindsay while we were in our hometown of Brandon. :)
We went to a couple different thrift shops, but the biggest one we visited was the local Goodwill. Lindsay and I have been hitting up this Goodwill for years and years!
Above are some of the things I liked, but that wouldn't have fit in our bags. A Bass ashtray- funny because it's my maiden name, a silly Las Vegas cookie jar, and some fun mugs!
I'm not sure what the yellow mug is, even- a peanut? But it's cute! As for the tourist mug, well, it made me chuckle. :)

Amanda

On the Shelves: Beachy Antique Store Edition
When we were in Anna Maria Island, Florida, we just had to go to the little local antique shop! It was just a few blocks from the condo we stayed at, and there were quite a few neat things on the shelves. :)
I loved the selection of vintage things, from small trinkets to all sorts of glassware and other fun things. The one thing above that I really wanted to take home with me is the kitty ring! It was my size and so neat, but it was sterling silver. Darn metal allergy! Ugh.
But I did get the most adorable vintage squirrel pin with little coral bits. :) I'll be sure to showcase that silly find in the near future!

Amanda

On the Thrift Store Shelves: Village People and Black Cats
This collection from the thrift store shelves is pretty random! (I guess they all are, though!)
But these are the kinds of things that catch my eye at the thrifts. :) I may not think they're worth buying, but I like looking at them all the same!
The Village People record from the Goodwill bins would've come home with me if the record had been in it. It was sadly empty, but I just had to take a photo of the hilarious cover. :)
The polaroid camera was pretty neat, and I loved the flash, but I can find them much cheaper than five bucks. (And I already have a pretty sweet collection of them. :))
The black cats actually did end up coming home with me! I love the way they look. They remind me of these cat lamps that my Grammy had when I was younger, where the eyes lit up red or green. (Grammy's were obviously much more awesome than these plain figurines!)
Finally, the Austin Powers toy... What can I say? I'm a kid of the 90s, and things like this appeal to me! I probably would've gotten it if it were cheaper!
Always,
Amanda
PS: Remember to enter the Coach bag giveaway! I'll be putting a couple surprises with it for the winner. :)

On the Thrift Store Shelves: Acid Green and Ducklings
Here are some of the fun things I saw at the thrifts on Saturday!
First, the acid green loafers could've come out of my dreams! I was totally smitten, until I saw they were size 7.5. I swear every awesome pair of shoes I find at Love of Jesus are this size! Totally disappointing for me, but if you're in Richmond and wear a seven and a half shoe, check out LOJ for sure. :)
The strange little domed skeleton was in the toy section. There was something about the weird way that it was bent that intrigued me enough to snap a photo. :) Skeletons can be neat!
I always seem to spot vintage stuffed animals at Goodwill Outlet, like the duckling above. I'm sure he was dirty and gross, but I had to take a picture of this Easter-appropriate guy!
Finally, the little vintage plaque was on the shelf at Good Samaritan. I thought it was cute, and the saying on it is sweet. :)
Check back tomorrow for some of the things I didn't leave on the shelves. :)
Always,
Amanda

On the Thrift Store Shelves: Smurfs and Typewriters
Here are some of the fun things I saw at Goodwill Outlet, Family Thrift, and Love of Jesus last Saturday!
I was intrigued by the Pay Day game, which was unfortunately missing the pieces. The Smurfs thermos was tempting too, but it was missing the lid!
At Family Thrift, there was a bounty of silly knick-knacks that I would've gotten if I still had an etsy store! I especially like the little 'smart owl' and the 'indulge and bulge' hippo. :) Vintage silly is somehow cuter than new silly!
The huge, heavy typewriters were on the shelf at Love of Jesus. I have to say, if they weren't so large and expensive, I would've taken them home for sure! The older one on the left was $75, though. A little more than my small thrifting budget allows, I'm afraid. ;)
Always,
Amanda
