Jadeite...Tuesday! And an Update!
Hey everyone! Man, you must be thinking, 'Amanda is SUCH a slacker! Where are her posts??' And, you'd be right!
Of course, I have the typical excuses for not blogging! Leaving a job, having a crappy 5-year-old computer that shuts down on me randomly, etc. But I'm still here! And I am definitely not ready to give up on this blog. :)
So, today, here are more updates on the Jadeite front! Some of the above pieces were spotted at various antique shops for CRAZY prices: the shaker in the third picture was $130! The batter bowl near the top, I just skipped buying because I already have one. :) And the C-handle mug in the fourth photo was $45, so it didn't come home with me, either. (Although according to my Jadeite books, that isn't too unreasonable of a price for that type of mug...I just can't personally ever justify paying that much for ONE MUG. You know?)
Anyway, I did come home with the Jadeite planter and a billion saucer plates for super cheap. The creamer and tea cup with the saucers were a whole $5! Score!
The bottom photo has a pretty full update on my collection so far. I did score a couple more bowls two weekends ago in St. Pete for $10 that aren't shown above. (My computer refused to load the rest of my photos from my iPhone. Good times!)
But yeah, so that's what's been going on with me. :) What have y'all been up to? Any great finds lately? I am thinking about selling a couple little things on my Instagram, if anyone is interested. :)
Always,
Amanda

Jadeite Friday :)
Happy Friday, everyone!! Today, I'm introducing a new feature based on my most recent obsession: Jadeite! On Fridays, I'll be doing updates on my current collection and what I've found. :)
Above are my most recent finds, as well as my whole current collection and my '50s Jadeite green sunnies!
The best finds shown above are the two swirl plates in the top photo. They both have a small chip on the edge, and when I pointed out the chips, the seller gave them to me for free! Yay free flea market Jadeite!! That never happens!
What have you guys found lately?
Always,
Amanda

Adventures in Jadeite :)
Sorry for the silence again, folks! But I am back, finally (finally!) recovered from being sick for way too long!
What have I been up to since my last post? Just working, hanging with my family and hubby, and scoring some Jadeite!!
We went to Mount Dora this past Saturday, and we found the mother load of all Jadeite! It was crazy finding so much, after coming up empty-handed most of the time here in Brandon.
The top photo is the Fire King 9" swirl bowl that I got at an antique mall a couple weekends ago in Orlando, the second photo is my Jadeite collection before Mount Dora, the third photo is everything I scored in Mount Dora (!!!), and the last is of my whole current collection!
It was crazy how much we saw in Mount Dora- and how much was actually well-priced! I did have to pass up some smaller swirl bowls that seemed to be everywhere, because they were all priced over $40 each! But my scores were much lower-priced than that, and I definitely went home happy. :)
I'm thinking another trip to Mount Dora is definitely going to be in our future!
Always,
Amanda
PS: Happy St. Patrick's Day from my Jadeite-green self to you!

Thrifted Vintage: Jadeite Madness!
The past several weekends, I've been on a mad Jadeite search! We've been visiting all sorts of different flea markets, a vintage store, antique shops, and thrifts looking for some pretty mint-colored glass!
Above are some of the pieces of Jadeite I found at the beginning of this month. :) I love the pretty shoe, found at a little booth at the Oldsmar Flea Market a couple weekends ago. I also scored the Fire King book and mug there!
The huge Jadeite bowl I saw at YesterDaze Vintage store in Tampa, but I had to pass it up because it was $45! The store was definitely an awesome one, though, and when I have more money to burn, I will definitely be going back!
I'll be back tomorrow with some more Jadeite finds and other cool stuff. :)
Happy Wednesday, folks!
Always,
Amanda

Thrifted Vintage: Jadeite Love!
Jadeite Bowl and Platter: Oldsmar Flea Market ($2 & $8) |
Whew! So, I've been a bit of a slacker, huh? I am still adjusting to being back in Florida, with a new job and lots of family and friends around! There is just so much to do and so many people to see compared to when I was in Virginia. :)
So yeah, I haven't posted in a long time! I really do hope to get better at posting at least a few times a week. :)
Anyway, these are my latest Jadeite finds from a local flea market! The big platter was only $2!!! The bowl was from an awesome booth there that had lots of Jadeite. I'll have to go back when I get my first paycheck!
I hope everyone has had a great week!
Always,
Amanda
