#Thriftspotting Sun City & Ellenton!
Hey guys! I hope everyone has had a great week so far! I've been sick (again- yuck!) with a cold and sore throat, but otherwise I've been great. :)
Above are some of the non-Jadeite things I've spotted recently in both Sun City and Ellenton. I seem to have a lot of luck finding milk glass and other white Fire King stuff, and it's so much cheaper than the Jadeite versions! I know if I started collecting milk glass too, I would be overrun by glass!!
I also liked the ceramic kitty above, but she was seriously overpriced- like $75 overpriced. I had seen one almost exactly like this one in the Goodwill Outlet bins in Virginia, but Josh talked me out of getting it back then. Someday, I'll have a big, slightly creepy ceramic kitty to my name!

Amanda

#Thriftspotting: Bradenton, Florida
Hey guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Josh and I were at a friend's wedding in Clearwater Beach, which was fun. :)
Speaking of the beach, today I have some #thriftspotting from the weekend before, which we spent in Bradenton for Josh's birthday. They have some great thrift shops there, so we stopped by a few on the way home.
I was disappointed when we went to the local Goodwill and saw a huge set of Fire King dishes that weren't Jadeite! Darn! I would have been super excited if they were!
I also spotted a milk glass bubble bowl, which also comes in Jadeite. But, thinking back, I probably should have gotten this bowl...it was only $2.99!
There were lots of other glass spotted, but none in my preferred color. It's all good, though, 'cause we stopped at an antique shop after these thrift shops, and I scored two Fire King Jadeite saucers for $3!

Amanda

#VintageSpotting in Lakeland :)
Hey guys! So...I am home sick, again. This time with a sinus infection and a small ear infection. Yuck. I went to the doctor today and got some antibiotics, though, so I should be feeling better soon!
Anyway, since I'm resting in bed today, I thought I might as well do a quick blog post. :)
A couple weekends ago, my dad and Josh and I went to Lakeland to check out some vintage and antique shops there. I didn't have any luck finding Jadeite that trip, but we spotted lots of cool things!
I really loved a lot of the furniture we saw at the Vintage Warehouse, and we'll definitely be going back there when we buy a house!
The cute vintage table and chairs in the last photo was a folding set! Even the table folded up! I really loved that set- I probably should have gotten them to use in the future!
Well, I hope everyone is doing well. Tomorrow's Friday, and then it's the weekend!!
Always,
Amanda

#FleamarketSpotting!!
Hey y'all! I hope everyone had a great Monday- mine was crazy!
I thought I'd share some of the things that I've spotted recently at the local flea markets. :) We've been heading to different ones every weekend, and so far my favorite is the Oldsmar Flea Market.
Most of the random things above were spotted there, but the crazy vintage Armadillo purse was a Wagon Wheel Flea Market find. :) (Don't worry, I didn't buy it! But it was pretty neat!)
How is everyone doing? I know I haven't been posting like I used to, but I think I'll be starting to get in the groove again soon. :)

Epic #Thriftspotting in Sarasota/Bradenton!
When we went to the Sarasota/ Bradenton area last weekend to visit the thrift shops, we saw SO MANY great things!
We checked out lots of thrifts on the way to the beaches on Anna Maria Island. At those, we spotted the cat sweater, the bear salt shaker, the awesome chair, and more! We actually came home with something cool from the first thrift we stopped at- Trinity Thrift- but I'll be sharing that another day. :)
Anyway, then we headed to a really neat combination antique/crafts store, where we spotted the totally sweet, but pricey, pelican and flamingo stuff! Also: the crazy wall art!
The last stop of the day was the Sarasota Goodwill, where I got the great, silver-plated deer bowl I showed y'all the other day. :) The other thing I REALLY wanted from there was the bike shown above. It was a vintage pink Schwinn that needed a lot of work, but I loved it until I saw the price. They wanted $80 for it! Crazy. So I had to leave that pretty bike behind. Someday, I'll find a reasonably priced vintage bike and restore it to it's former glory. :)
We might be checking out a neighborhood full of garage sales this morning, so wish me luck!

Amanda

#Thriftspotting: Salvation Army Brandon :)
The hubby and I headed out for a #thriftspotting adventure at our local Salvation Army last week. I didn't find anything to bring home, but he found a CD he'd been looking for. :)
Above are some of the strange things that I spotted, including a teller action figure! (I used to be a teller, so it was pretty funny to see an action figure of such a non-action thing as a teller!)
I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Amanda

Antique Shop Spotting: Sweet Memories Antiques
While Grammy and Grandpa were in town for Christmas, Grammy joined us for a little antique shop spotting. :)
This little shop, called Sweet Memories, is in Brandon, Florida. It has multiple rooms full of great stuff, including lots of records, organized by band name! We had been looking everywhere for a certain record, and we found it right away in Sweet Memories. :)
Some of my other favorite things there are shown above. I especially liked the mid-century tin dollhouse, the tintype photos, and the cups with the die in them! Very cool. :)
I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

Amanda

#Thriftspotting in Lakeland!
Here are some of the things we spotted at the Lakeland thrifts last week. :) It was fun to get out and explore some shops we'd never been to before!
The only one we'd visited in the past was the Lakeland Goodwill Outlet, which is sadly not near as awesome as the Richmond one. I might not miss the freezing temps, but the Goodwill Outlet in Richmond I do miss a little!
Probably my favorite thing from this #thriftspotting adventure is the cool furniture book at the top. Looking back, I probably should have gotten that! Oh well!
I hope everyone is having a great week so far!
