On the Thrift Store Shelves: Goodwill

The other night after work, I went to my local Goodwill for some "window shopping". I love checking out what's on the shelves, even if I don't plan on buying anything. (I did go home with the above cat container, though...)

This particular day, there were actually some neat things to be seen. I really liked the globe (but already have one) and wolf figure (overpriced), and the sewing box and Davy Crockett book (don't have a place for them). Nowadays, I think pretty hard before I thrift something. I have to really like it, it has to be fairly priced, and I have to have space for it!

Thrifted Vintage: Polaroid SX-70!!!

Vintage Polaroid SX-70 ($5)

Josh and I were at Good Samaritan Thrift on Saturday afternoon, and I found an old Polaroid SX-70 case in the luggage section. I was excited just to find the empty case, but I found myself wishing that the camera was inside it!

Then, we rounded the corner of the store, and what was sitting in the glass case marked $5? The camera! A little of the leather on top is peeling, but otherwise, it's in perfect condition! I've wanted one of these old Polaroids since I bought my first Polaroid camera at eighteen. This model is super sleek and pretty and wonderful! I'm so excited to finally have one. :)

Outfitted In: The Adventure Vest!

So I thrifted this admittedly crazy vest at Goodwill the other day...but I love it! It has all sorts of zippers, pockets, clips, and such. :) Perfect for a day of thrifing!

Speaking of which, Josh took my outfit picture outside of Goodwill Outlet, which is why there's a huge Goodwill truck behind me. :) Also- I can't stop wearing these awesome vintage sunnies. They are perfect for this sunny weather we've been having!

I've been wearing this lion pin like crazy! I love it. :) It is super silly, but for some reason, people always come up to me and say that they love it, too.

Estate Sale Treasure: My Pretty $7 Quilt :)

Vintage Quilt: Estate Sale ($7)

I love going to estate sales on Sundays, when most everything is 50% off! This lovely vintage quilt was only seven bucks!! I almost couldn't believe it. :)

I have quite the collection now of old quilts- all of which I've found at estate sales or thrift shops for under $20. Such good thrifting luck! (Now I've probably jinxed myself...whoops!)

Insta-Thursday #7

This past week was filled with lots of thrifting, watching the Baby-sitter's Club movie, sporting my newly thrifted lion pin multiple times, and coloring with my new PrettiPoint pens!

I totally slacked (again!) on Moxie kitty pictures, but I'm going to do better next week. What's Insta-Thursday without my cute kitty?

Outfitted In: Hello, Sailor!

Shirt, Jeans, Bag, Sunnies, Pin: All Thrifted; Sandals: Rugged Wearhouse

I found this awesome cotton sailor shirt at Good Samaritan this past Saturday. I couldn't wait to wear it, so I washed it that night and threw it on Sunday morning. :)

I see how this shirt can easily veer into 'costumey' territory, so I kept things simple: touches of gold, my lion pin, and my map bag.

We spent Sunday visiting an estate sale and some antique shops, and I kept getting compliments on my outfit. I don't know if it's just because we were around other quirky people, or if a sailor shirt is cool in general, but I'll take it!
