My Favorite Finds of 2013 :)

This year, instead of a million photos to scroll through, I made a short video of my favorite Instagrammed finds of 2013. :) There are Ray Ban sunnies I scored for five bucks, CDs that bring me back to my high school and college days, some Jadeite, an Uglydoll and more! I had a pretty great thrifting year. :)

Some of these things I sold at our garage sale in Richmond, so it is kind of nostalgic looking through them again! My favorite things I've found might be the cool unicorns...or the Jadeite!

My year overall was pretty great, too. This year brought a lot of changes, including moving back to my home state, which I've wanted to do since I left it! Although the thrift stores where I am in Florida aren't the best, there are some great ones not too far from here. :) And 2014 will bring new jobs for me and Josh, hopefully a new house, and so much more! Bring on 2014!

Amanda

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Well, I'm off to run around like a crazy woman this Christmas season! :) We'll be jumping from place to place to place this year, so I'm going to take a blog-break until after the holidays.

I hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas!

Always,
Amanda (and Josh!)

Insta-Thursday: Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time!

Happy Thursday, folks! It's hard to believe it's getting so close to Christmas already! This month since we've been here in Florida has just flown by in a whirlwind of interviews, volunteer projects, racquetball, kitty time, and hanging out with friends and family!

The two big things we did this week were both Christmas-related. We went to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom with some of Josh's family last Friday night, and it was a blast! Then, last night, we went to Lowry Park Zoo's Winter Wonderland with our friend Stephanie. :)

In between, we squeezed in an interview, some racquetball, and cleaning. We're so ready for Christmas- especially for seeing family that we don't see often!

Always,
Amanda

#Thriftspotting in Lakeland!

Here are some of the things we spotted at the Lakeland thrifts last week. :) It was fun to get out and explore some shops we'd never been to before!

The only one we'd visited in the past was the Lakeland Goodwill Outlet, which is sadly not near as awesome as the Richmond one. I might not miss the freezing temps, but the Goodwill Outlet in Richmond I do miss a little!

Probably my favorite thing from this #thriftspotting adventure is the cool furniture book at the top. Looking back, I probably should have gotten that! Oh well!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Always,
Amanda

Outfitted In: Mickey Mouse + Tan :)

Vintage Mickey Shirt, Jeans, Mocs, Bag: All Thrifted!

Sorry I was a bit absent the last few days! We've been pretty busy, with a trip to Disney with the hubby's extended family, a Christmas party, church, and helping with volunteer stuff. :)

As you can probably guess, this was Friday's outfit, for an afternoon at Fort Wilderness and the Magic Kingdom. Disney is a special place for me because I grew up here in Florida and made lots of happy memories there throughout the years. :)

Can you tell I'm pretty psyched to be back in my home state? I just love it here, despite the mosquitoes and the warm December weather. It's just home. :)

Amanda

Insta-Thursday: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

This week has been filled with: Christmas decorating, an interview, putting up Christmas lights, a madrigal dinner, sparkly nail polish, racquetball at the gym, running errands at places with HUGE fake roses, and hanging out with one of my favorite people by a ginormous wreath! :)

I'd say that it has been a very good week!

Thrift Find: An Awesome Uglydoll!

Uglydoll: Peace River Center Thrift, Lakeland ($2)

The hubby and I ran a couple errands in Lakeland for my parents yesterday, so we decided to hit up some of the thrift shops there. :)

They were actually pretty good! We found a couple Christmas presents, and then I found this great Uglydoll! It was marked  $3.50, which I was totally okay with, since they are usually $20, but then it was on sale! Only two bucks for this big, bright guy. :)

Does anyone else love Uglydolls? My mom just thinks they're ugly!

Amanda

Outfitted In: Ruffles and Green :)

Shirt, Shorts, Bag: All Thrifted; Sandals: Target Clearance

Here is yesterday's outfit, for a day of Christmas shopping, writing Christmas cards, and finishing up wrapping presents!

It is so nice, after five years in Virginia, to be wearing shorts and sandals in December! It's so nice and warm and pretty here, and I'm just so glad to be back!

I hope that everyone is having a great week so far. :)

Amanda

Antique Shop Spotting, Pensacola Style!

Okay guys, this is my last Pensacola post! (I know- it took me a whole week to recap our trip, but we fit in a bunch of fun there!)

Anyway, some of the last places Grammy and I went on day two of our thrift-ventures were a couple of antique malls. They were both really cool, with tons of fun stuff to look at, photograph, and buy as Christmas presents!

I actually almost bought the butterfly above- it was only 50 cents!- but I resisted. It was a little weird...

I also liked a lot of the handmade items at these antique malls. They had some original and neat things, like the license plate cuff bracelets and the seashell art. :)

Pensacola is such a great place for the antique shop (and thrift shop!) hunter. If you're ever there, be sure to visit some of the great local places!

Amanda

Pensacola #Thriftspotting Day Two!

Our second thrift day in Pensacola was just me and Grammy, and we managed to hit almost all of the other thrift stores in town!

I spotted some great things, found some Christmas presents, and enjoyed hanging out with Grammy. :) She even found of the Santas she collects!

Of this #thriftspotting adventure, I think my favorite thing was the painting above. It was $9.99, which is why I didn't get it, but looking back, I probably should have. It's so pretty, and I love the colors!

I hope everyone had a great week, and happy Sunday!

Always,
Amanda
