Vintage Mickey Shirt, Jeans, Mocs, Bag: All Thrifted!

Sorry I was a bit absent the last few days! We've been pretty busy, with a trip to Disney with the hubby's extended family, a Christmas party, church, and helping with volunteer stuff. :)

As you can probably guess, this was Friday's outfit, for an afternoon at Fort Wilderness and the Magic Kingdom. Disney is a special place for me because I grew up here in Florida and made lots of happy memories there throughout the years. :)

Can you tell I'm pretty psyched to be back in my home state? I just love it here, despite the mosquitoes and the warm December weather. It's just home. :)

Insta-Thursday: Florida so Far :)

 We have loved Florida so far! We spent last Saturday night making the kitty feel comfortable in her new home, Sunday unpacking and then eating Olive Garden with Josh's family and my parents, Monday morning doing typical Tampa things with Josh's parents before they had to fly back to Virginia, and Tuesday helping my mom with her volunteer projects and having Sushi Tuesday!

Yesterday, I did more projects for my mom while she was at work, and we've also been rocking the racquetball court! :)

Our Move :)

 

 Well folks, we made it to Florida! We're all unpacked and settled in, and I figured it was past time for a blog post!

We cleaned out and fully packed up our apartment last Friday morning, and then headed to my in-law's house. We set off from there around 5:30 Saturday morning, while it was still pitch dark outside!

Once the sun came out, it was very foggy. Josh drove my car with me as the passenger, and Josh's dad drove the moving van pulling Josh's car with his mom as the passenger. Once the fog cleared and we passed into North Carolina, Josh and I switched.

He took a couple of Instagram photos for me while I was driving, like the South of the Border photo as we crossed from North Carolina to South Carolina. :) We stopped for lunch in Santee, SC, at a Wendy's. Because we had Moxie with us, we got our food and then set out a blanket in the shade with her in her carrier next to us. Being an indoor cat, I don't think she knew what to make of the whole situation!

I continued driving as we passed into Georgia, but at our next gas station break, Josh took over. He drove the rest of the way through Georgia and through Florida. Of course, we had to stop at the Florida Welcome Center and take a photo with the huge sign!

From there, we had about four more hours until we made it to our destination. It got dark a little after 5:30, and then it started to rain! I was glad that Josh was driving the last bit!

We made it to Brandon around 8:30, after a long day in the car. It went by very fast, though, and my car did great! We didn't run into any traffic at all, which was nothing short of a miracle. :)

I should be back into the swing of things now, so I'll be back tomorrow!

#Thriftspotting in Florida :)

Here are some of the cool things I spotted while I thrifted with my dad in Florida. :) I saw all sorts of cool things! I can't wait to decorate when we move into our own place down there! It will be so fun!

Thrift Find: A Button Necklace!

Button Necklace: Goodwill ($4.99)

The regular Goodwill near my parent's house in Florida is big, but overpriced. There are lots of brand-new, boring items all over. Basically, it's not my favorite thrift store location.

So, even though this awesome vintage button necklace was more than I'd usually pay at a thrift store, I was surprised to find it there in the first place! I splurged, and it ended up being my only thrift score from my short trip.

I did spot some other cool things, though, so there will be plenty of #thriftspotting photos tomorrow!

I'm Back!

Well, I'm back in Richmond after my short Florida trip! I had a great time, and I was able to get some stuff done for when we move in a couple months. :)

Plus, I got to hang out with this silly dog! :) He's my parents' dog Jake, and he's so fun!

My dad and I went to some thrifts on Saturday, so I have some #thriftspotting and even a thrifted find!

So, it's been a busy week back at work, and I never got the chance to photograph my one thrift find from Pensacola! Whoops! But I did score this awesome clutch at Bealls Outlet on my trip, so close enough!

I thought this little guy was so cute. :)

On the Thrift Store Shelves: Brandon, FL Edition

Finally, here is my last post about our Florida trip! These photos are from our thrift spree with our good friend Lindsay while we were in our hometown of Brandon. :)

We went to a couple different thrift shops, but the biggest one we visited was the local Goodwill. Lindsay and I have been hitting up this Goodwill for years and years!

Above are some of the things I liked, but that wouldn't have fit in our bags. A Bass ashtray- funny because it's my maiden name, a silly Las Vegas cookie jar, and some fun mugs!

I'm not sure what the yellow mug is, even- a peanut? But it's cute! As for the tourist mug, well, it made me chuckle. :)

Outfitted In: Stripes + Red

I was looking through my vacation pictures, and I realized there were a couple of outfits I hadn't posted! The above outfit was worn Mother's Day morning to go to church and brunch with my parents, husband, and a couple of friends.

We had to wait a little bit before we could be seated for brunch that day, but I didn't mind because it was so pretty outside of the restaurant! I mean, look at the plants and trees- very tropical. :)

Man, I am definitely missing Florida. We had such a great time. :)

A Polaroid Sunset

I had so much fun playing with the settings on my new Polaroid camera! (You can find it here, by the way :))

After the Lomo setting, I think the sunset setting is my favorite so far. :) I couldn't believe how sharp and lovely the digital photos look- and you have the option to print physical copies, too! I honestly cannot stop raving about the Polaroid Z340. :) I have the best, best brother in the world for picking this for my birthday gift!

I hope you all have had a great week. :) I'm looking forward to the long weekend, with plenty of thrifting and sleeping in!!!

On the Shelves: Beachy Antique Store Edition

When we were in Anna Maria Island, Florida, we just had to go to the little local antique shop! It was just a few blocks from the condo we stayed at, and there were quite a few neat things on the shelves. :)

I loved the selection of vintage things, from small trinkets to all sorts of glassware and other fun things. The one thing above that I really wanted to take home with me is the kitty ring! It was my size and so neat, but it was sterling silver. Darn metal allergy! Ugh.

But I did get the most adorable vintage squirrel pin with little coral bits. :) I'll be sure to showcase that silly find in the near future!
