I took a little break from red for awhile, but now it is back in full force! Maybe it's just that red seems more like a fall/winter color to me than a spring/summer one?

Anyway, this was yesterday's thrifting outfit, complete with my new red bag I got on the clearance rack of TJMaxx. :) I love it!

And I had a pretty lucky thrifting day yesterday, too. I actually found two Baby-sitters Club books at Good Samaritan, and I scored some cool books as presents at the book sale I went to.

The hubby and I plan on having a fun day today, but we haven't quite decided what we're going to do yet!

What's more girlie-girl than pink and bows? Not much that I can think of. :) While I shy away from super frilly things, these finds are just the right amount of sweet for my taste!

Thrifted Vintage: TV Lamp Awesomeness!

Pink Panther TV Lamp: Sixty West ($19)

Here is my new favorite lamp! It is super awesome, pink, a panther, and a TV LAMP! :)

I love it so, so much. :) It actually is great as a bedside lamp- just bright enough for reading, but not too crazy bright.

I think I might get an air plant or something for the front. (Is that what the front part is for?)

Happy Thursday, everyone! This past week, for me, has been filled with crazy Goodwill kitties, thrifted No Doubt CDs, creepy Trolls, braids, panther TV lights, watching Love Story the first time (I liked the clothes, but not the story!), and catching my kitty being cute. :)

Outfitted In: Pink + Bow

Here is an all-thrifted outfit! I didn't even realize it until I starting writing this post. :) Probably this outfit was about $20 total!

This was Sunday's outfit, where I wore my newly thrifted shoes and bolo necklace that I thrifted the day before. Also- that striped sweater (hanging on the railing in the photo) is super soft! I can't wait for it to get a little cooler out, so I can wear it more!

Thrift Finds: A Little Lady-like

I was feeling pretty girly this weekend, I guess, because most of Saturday's finds were very lady-like! Take these pretty flats and this fancy bow bolo. :)

My other major find was pink, and you might see a peek of it in my Instagram feed! (I'll share more later this week.)

As for these finds...I actually wore both things the very next day. I love them both! Sometimes this tomboy needs a bit of girliness in her life, and these hit the spot. :)

Thrifted Vintage: Bless This House

Vintage Clock: Goodwill Outlet (~$1)

This cool clock has found a home on the first wall you see as you enter our little apartment. I love kitschy, fun, vintage things like this!

Speaking of vintage, we went to a pretty cool estate warehouse sale yesterday. :) We didn't buy much, but it's always fun to look around at things! There was this neat, super-old record player, but it was too broken to be of much use. I might have gotten it just for its looks if we had the space!

What else is new? Hmmm, I think I mentioned the other day that I found a vintage Fisher Price travel record player for cheap on eBay. And it works! I love carrying it from room to room and playing my records. The only thing that would make it better is if it could be battery-operated as well!

Outfitted In: Dots + Gold

This was yesterday's thrifting outfit, complete with braids, gold accessories, and polka dots! I recently thrifted this shirt, which is quite oversize, so I pulled an '80s girl on it and cinched the side with a hair tie. :) Does anyone else remember those plastic things that were specifically for corners of t-shirts?

As for my milkmaid braids...this has been my go-to style lately. I've gotten mixed reviews. Those who like it think I look like Princess Leia or an Octoberfest chick. :) (Those who don't just give me funny looks!)

Detail Shot Saturday: Fall Moccasins!

These are my most favorite Fall shoes! I had been searching the thrifts for these exact mocs for ages, and I finally found them last December in Pensacola! I swear, Waterfront Rescue Mission is one of my favorite thrifts I've ever been to. :)

Well folks, I'm off to my fave thrifts to search for: BSC books and VHS tapes, a record tote to go along with my newly eBayed Fisher Price portable record player, and fun things for the people I love. Yup, I'm always on the lookout for great presents, even though it is still forever until the holidays!

This past week was filled with: awesome bags left behind at the thrift store, discovering a nearby 'garage sale store', finding a BSC Notebook there, capturing sunsets from the passenger side, sporting my lucky cat pin, spotting a first sign of Fall, and feeling a bit like Elton John in newly estate saled sunglasses!

Whew! It has been a pretty packed week- I can't wait for more fun this coming weekend. :)

Outfitted In: Yellow + Stripes

This was Sunday's outfit, for a semi-successful estate sale and a late lunch of Greek salad. :) I have to say, this Civil War replica bag, which I got at Richmond's Museum of the Confederacy when my brother was in town, is super comfy.

Also, wearing more mustard-colored things is my way of transitioning to Fall. :) I can't wait for cool weather! I thrifted the most awesome cardigan that I can't wait to wear!

Thrift Finds: Unicorny :)

Unicorn Candle Holder: Goodwill Outlet (<$1); Unicorn Box: Good Samaritan ($1)

I have been drawn to unicorns lately. I think the origin of this new fascination was etsy, but I'm not completely sure. :) See, I'm not a horse fan (I'm pretty scared of them) so I feel bad thrifting horse things. But unicorns are different...right? I mean, they're not real, and they have a horn...

Before I start sounding completely strange, I'll just say that unicorn things are a new favorite. :) Add them to stars, hearts, anything glittery, and cats and you'll pretty much sum up what I'm loving right now! At least in reference to thrift finds. :)

Outfitted In: Subtle Stripes

I thrifted this cool, handmade vest at Goodwill the other day, and I just love it! I've been keeping an eye out for vests lately, and this one is perfect. :) It even has front pockets!

My thrifted Minnetonka mocs are definitely going to get a lot of wear this season. They're just right for the in-between months, when it's not too hot or cold. (Aka: my favorite weather!)

These HUGE mushrooms keep popping up outside our apartment building, and I just had to take a perspective shot of these! Each one was easily twice the size of my feet, which is just crazy. :)

Thrift Find: Compatibility!

When I found this '90s Compatibility game at my local Goodwill, I was super excited! My family and I played this game all the time- it's super fun! (Of course, when we were younger, my mom and dad had to take out a couple of cards that weren't kid-friendly...)

The way it works? Each person has a stack of cards with the same set of pictures, words, and colors. You and a partner try to match up your cards with a word on the topic card, and whichever team has the most matches ends up winning. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is my most favorite board game ever!

Thrift Finds: Teen Vogues

Teen Vogues: Family Thrift ($1 for all)

Looking through these 2003-2006 Teen Vogue issues has brought me back to my high school and college days. I remember reading some of these issues, and it's crazy how much I've changed since then! (Not to mention how much the cover stars have changed!)

I honestly like Teen Vogue, though. I did back then, and I still do! Not only are there interesting articles, but I can mostly afford the fashion they portray. I love magazines such as Lucky and Marie Claire, but $2000 for a shirt? Never gonna happen, folks.

Although I am, I think, an old soul, I guess I'm also partly a teenage girl on the inside. :) My love of sparkles, hearts, lip gloss, exclamation points and Baby-sitters Club books puts me right in the 13-year-old girl range. And that's just fine by me!

Thrift Find: Lips!

Makeup Case: Family Thrift ($0.75)

I spotted this quirky lip-shaped makeup bag in a metal bin at Family Thrift, and I knew I had to get it! The best part? It was just seventy-five cents! I'm pretty excited about it. :)

I had a couple other finds this past weekend, but not much. I want to check out new-to-me thrift stores, but I feel like I've been to all of the ones around Richmond. Hmmm. Any suggestions?

Outfitted In: Stripes + Mustard + Wonder Woman!

This is not what I wore yesterday. I, sort of embarrassingly, accidentally wore the exact same thing I wore two weeks ago. Down to the shoes and necklace. And I didn't realize it until after I got home and looked at my outfit pictures. (That's the sort of embarrassing part!)

Anyway, instead of showing you the same striped shirt with striped overshirt, green jeans, and leather medicine pouch necklace, I found this outfit that I never shared from back in July.

We have this interesting comic place/ used bookstore near us called Stories, and I've been there looking for Baby-sitter's Club books numerous times. This specific time was the only trip there that I found some! 

I think the hairdo is sort of inspired by the BSC, with Claudia's funky, early 90s side-ponytails...

Insta-Thursday #12

Well, it's already Thursday, folks! Thank goodness for short weeks. :) This past week was pretty busy, but some of the things it included were: school desks outside of Love of Jesus, a MicroMachines RV, the prettiest flower blanket, a hardcover BSC book, a new antique store with pop culture stuff, and a Wednesday-night Goodwill expedition, where I spotted a bouquet of shell-flowers!

Only two more days until the weekend, when I'll hopefully find more BSC books, check out some thrift stores, and sleep in. :)
