Thrift Finds: Strawberry Red :)

Strawberry Christmas Ornaments: Goodwill Outlet (<$1)

The Goodwill bins are a treasure trove of cool Christmas ornaments, such as these awesome strawberries! I'm keeping one for our little tinsel tree and giving one to my sis-in-law. :)

These remind me of many happy afternoons of my childhood spent picking strawberries in Florida. Plus, they are just plain cute!

Thrifted Vintage: Dooney & Bourke Love :)

Vintage Dooney & Bourke Bag: Goodwill Outlet ($3)

I was super excited to score this large Dooney bag! It has so much room compared to the ones I've thrifted in the past. :) Also, it has an interesting story attached...

See, I looked in the purse bins at Goodwill Outlet when I got there Saturday afternoon and there was nothing good in it. Then, a lady put this bag back into the bins. I was right by where she dropped it, but a little old lady grabbed it first.

I shrugged and started going through the other bins. When I looked back at the lady, I could tell she was thinking about whether she wanted the bag or not. A couple other ladies had their eyes on her, too.

When she finally decided to put it back, the other hawk-eyed ladies had dissipated, and I was the only one there. I grabbed it from the bins, and quickly walked away before anyone else could try to fight me for it!

And that, folks, is how you score a vintage Dooney & Bourke bag for three bucks without throwing elbows. :)

Outfitted In: Mustard and Sunshine

Sweater, Shirt, Mocs, Bag: All Thrifted; Jeans: Burlington

I had the most horrible time trying to get a decent outfit shot in yesterday's sun-soaked afternoon! (Not such a bad problem to have, too much sun.)

Anyway, this has been my go-to outfit as of late. My fave sweater over one of my two fave button-down shirts, and moccasins. :) I guess I'm just squeezing out every little bit of Fall that I can before it turns to yucky Winter. Ugh.

I had a great thrifting day yesterday, though! I got the best vintage Dooney & Bourke bag at Goodwill Outlet, and I didn't have to fight anyone for it! :) That = miracle.

Detail Shot Saturday: Stained Glass

The stained glass ceiling at the Jefferson Hotel
While I loved the pretty Christmas decorations at the fancy Jefferson Hotel this past weekend, I adored this beautiful stained glass!

I wish I had such a pretty thing to look up at in our apartment. :)

Have a great weekend!

What is That?!?

Plastic Lightning Bolts: Billy's Little Dodge City (free)

Hey everyone! I've decided on a new Friday series of posts, dedicated to identifying the strange things I find thrifting. :)

Up first: These "my crazy cut" lightning bolts that the lady at Billy's Little Dodge City gave me for free with my Shiny Brite ornaments! I think they are super cool, but...what are they?

My best guess? Hair things...weird ear cuffs? I'm not sure! You tell me, folks!

Happy Friday!

Insta-Thursday #24

This week was filled with: playing my Martin (thanks, Dad and Mom!!!), checking out thrift stores I'd never been to, dressing up and eating a fancy brunch, estate sale-ing some awesome vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, scoring some funky round sunnies, sporting lots of glitter gloss, and wrapping Christmas presents in my own, weird way. :)

Outfitted In: OMG, a Dress!

Dress with Belt: Rugged Wearhouse; Jacket: Gift; Shoes, Bag: Thrifted

As I mentioned yesterday, we went to a fancy brunch this past Sunday that called for dressing up. If you've read my blog a while, you'd know I'm not a "dress person" in the slightest. This is actually my only dress in my closet!

I got it for $12 at Rugged Wearhouse months ago, just because it was a great price and it fit well. And I thought, heck- everyone needs a black dress!

It was surprisingly comfortable and fun to wear, so maybe I'll be pulling it out again. :) (Also, please excuse my paper-white legs!)

Amanda
